Russian Troops Begin Demining Border Areas in Kursk Region._ISHEJA

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that engineering units have begun clearing mines from the border areas of the Kursk Region, which were recently reclaimed from Ukrainian forces.
"Engineering units have commenced the demining process in areas of the Kursk Region that were freed from Ukrainian control, with the goal of restoring key infrastructure and facilities necessary for resuming peaceful life and economic activities in the region after the conflict," the ministry stated.
The demining efforts are targeting a variety of locations, including residential buildings, agricultural lands, and critical infrastructure such as gas pipelines, heating systems, power and communication networks, roads, and bridges.
The ministry emphasized that the sappers have a significant amount of work ahead of them.
"Much remains to be done, as Ukrainian forces deployed numerous types of ammunition, including weapons supplied by NATO countries," the statement explained.
Furthermore, military engineers have uncovered munitions that are prohibited under the Geneva Convention, such as the Lepestok anti-personnel mines, according to the Ministry of Defense.
